About the Author
After High school I obtained a Class "A" automotive mechanic, inter-provincial license. Working in a trade teaches the importance of discipline, and that hard work has its own rewards. After several years working as an automotive mechanic I decided to go back to school. Because of my interest in the automotive sector, I pursued and obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in Automotive Marketing, and Management, with a minor in Accounting. With this degree in hand, I was able to acquire a good job in the head office of one of the largest automotive manufacturers.
I then went on to earn a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo , Ontario . I strongly support the notion that the pursuit of a higher education it is crucial to ones success: personally, professionally as well as financially. I believe that any chance you have for furthering your education is worth taking.
After completing my education and career advancement I realized I had not taken the same care with my personal finance matters as I had investing in my formal education. Although I tried to lead a frugal life and make good purchase decisions I fell into the credit card trap as many of us do. At this point I was burdened with a five digit level of unsecured debt. Here I am a professional MBA and a failure in my personal finances. Driven by necessity I spent many hours researching financial strategies and methods to get out of debt and start building up my savings. The goal is to retire financially independent, which is just what I am doing. This book is a condensed version of years of research and study. A true way to achieve my goal of becoming financially independent by the time I retire. After implementing the following twelve steps I have drastically changed my financial future, one that I will be proud of and enables me to leave a positive legacy for my children.
